What is Tuna Rice and How to make Tuna Rice Recipe

Tuna rice recipe is an easy to cook recipe full of nutrition which combines veggies, tuna fish and rice. In this dish, we have used canned tuna fish in chili oil, basmati rice and peas. Tuna fish is usually low in fat and considered as a healthy food for your health as it boosts your brain and skin. This recipe is very nutritious and good for those days when you are running out of time and need to prepare something very quickly. Try this refreshing and light meal which will surely satisfy your hunger cravings.

Special tips to make Tuna Rise

  1. You can make this recipe with cooked leftover rice. 
  2. Basmati rice or jasmine rice is the best to cook for this dish as it gives a delicate, aromatic flavor to the recipe.

Take a skillet and add 2 tbsp of oil in it. Add crushed cloves, onions, garlic ginger paste. Red pepper and Sauté it for 2-3 minutes. Add dried chili flakes and gently mix it.

Take tuna out of the cans and drain them. Add tuna in the skillet and let it heat on a medium flame for few minutes.

Add Basmati rice and peas in the skillet and stir it gently. Add salt to taste, one tsp of butter and water, bring it to boil. Once boiled, reduce the heat to low and cover it with lid. Let it simmer for 15 minutes until all the liquid is absorbed and rice is cooked. Turn off the flame if cooked.

Toss the rice gently and season it with coriander leaves, soy sauce, and green onions. Serve hot.

250 grams Basmati Rice Basmati or Jasmine Rice
2 tablespoons vegetable Oil
1 tsp Butter
1/4 tsp Peas
1/4 tsp Garlic Finely chopped
1 cup Peas Fresh or frozen peas
210 grams Tuna Can tuna in chili oil
1/2 cup spring Onion finely sliced
1 cup Soy sauce
1 pinch chili flakes
1 Red Pepper Diced
As per taste Coriander Leaves for garnish
As per taste Green onion
As per taste Salt
