250 gms Paneer/Cottage Cheese
1 tsp Coriander PowderDhania powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric PowderHaldi Powder

2 tablespoon Fresh Cream
As per taste Salt
2 OnionRoughly chopped
3 TomatoesRoughly chopped

3 tablespoon ButterGhee/Butter
1 Bay leaf
1 tsp Cumin
1 Green Chili
1/4 Green Cardamoms
1 tsp Kasuri Methifenugreek powder
What is a Shahi paneer
Shahi Paneer Recipe is a rich and creamy dish, is a popular Mughal Cuisine dish denotes royalty. Shahi Paneer Recipe Tips
- Adding cream in the recipe is optional so if you want to add you can or you can skip it.
- For the vegan version of this recipe, substitute paneer with tofu.
- You can use full-fat yogurt as a substitute for tomato puree in the same proportion as mentioned in the recipe.
Take a medium sized pan and heat 3 tablespoons of oil or ghee in it. Add bay leaf, cumin seeds, coriander powder in it. Let it saute for a minute.
Once the spices become fragrant, add finely chopped onions, green chili, ginger, garlic, cashews and almonds in it. Saute it well.
Saute till the onions become the translucent and raw aroma of ginger and garlic goes away. Add chopped tomatoes in the mixture and stir it well. After that, cover the lid and cook it for 7-8 add minutes. Once the oil starts separating at the edges then turn off the flame and let it cool at room temperature.
Once the gravy cools down, transfer this into a blending jar and blend it to make a smooth paste and keep aside.
In the same pan, take some ghee or oil and add the ground gravy in it. Cook this gravy for 5-7 minutes and further add red chili powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt to taste. Mix it well.
Bring this gravy to a boil. Once the gravy starts thickening, add the paneer cubes in it. Also, add some milk in the gravy and cook for 5 minutes on low flame.
Grate 2-3 cubes of Paneer for garnishing and add in the cooked gravy. Also, add some fresh cream to make your dish look scrumptious. Garnish it with some coriander leaves, cardamom powder, and crushed Kasuri methi.
