Tips to Make a Chocolate Wafer Cookies
- You can use either dutch processed or regular cocoa powder for making these cookies. Using dutch processed cocoa powder will give a dark color to your cookies.
- To get the desired black color to your cookies, add ½ tsp of black food coloring.
Mix butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until lightened, about 2 minutes.
Take a medium-sized bowl, stir together flour, cocoa powder, soda, and salt. If there are any lumps of cocoa powder, squeeze out the dry ingredients before adding them to the butter.
Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture and just mix to combine. Add milk and just mix to combine.
Form the dough into two 1 1/2-inch-thick logs. Carefully, cover the wrap in aluminum foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least an hour.
In order to bake, preheat the oven to 355 degrees F. place two baking sheets lined with parchment paper in the oven rack.
Slice the cookie dough logs into 1/8-inch-thick coins.
